Backups Get a New Look in Device Scout 1.2

We’re pleased to announce that Device Scout 1.2 is now available. In this version we’ve redesigned the backup data to give you more information in a nice, easy-to-understand format.

You can see that Device Scout now shows:

  • CrashPlan and Time Machine data side by side
  • All known CrashPlan targets

More improvements on the way

With each release, we are steadily improving Device Scout based on valuable feedback from our customers. We can't wait to show you Device Scout 1.5, coming next month. Stay tuned!

Device Scout 1.1.3 Improves CrashPlan Compatibility

We have just released Device Scout 1.1.3, a simple upgrade that improves the accuracy and reliability of CrashPlan backup information reported by Device Scout. Be sure to deploy our latest CrashPlan extension attribute to your Macs in order to get all the benefits of this upgrade.

In addition, Device Scout 1.1.3 now recognizes OS X 10.8 as “Mountain Lion”. Those of you running early-access versions of Mountain Lion will now see that fact correctly reported in Device Scout.

Device Scout 1.1.2 Improves Performance and Updates Mac Data

Today we're happy to announce Device Scout 1.1.2, a quick and worthwhile upgrade for our customers. Version 1.1.2 offers these improvements:

  • Fixes a problem on some servers where the Device Scout JSS sync operation would halt prematurely when run from cron.
  • Adds maximum memory data that was missing or incorrect for some Mac models.
  • Improves load speed for the organizations page; in particular, users of the AdBlock Safari extension should see a noticeable improvement.

Introducing Device Scout

55 Minutes is building a product that will be the easiest way for you to see important information from your JAMF Software Server and CrashPlan PRO.

We're calling it Device Scout.

In the past month we've been busy:

  • Deciding the 1.0 feature set and laying down the product roadmap
  • Developing an alpha release and getting it ready to ship (soon!)
  • Planning our communication strategy with technical partners and future customers

Over the next weeks we will be unveiling our website and blog. We plan on openly sharing the functionalities and progress of Device Scout with you, so stay tuned.

We'd like to thank Forget Computers, JAMF Software, Code 42 Software, and many others for their help and support so far.

We are very excited and can't wait to share more with you very soon.
